How Black Children are Faring in the Pandemic
Some politicians are arguing that children are not susceptible to the corona virus, therefore, they can go back to school safely. But, children do get the coronavirus or COVID-19! Our episode today is entitled: Children Do Get COVID-19: How Black children are faring in the pandemic. How are the children and their families impacted by the coronavirus illness? The numbers of children who die are relatively small, but children do die from it. Research suggests that Black and Brown children constitute the largest group of child deaths. In addition, children can infect the adults who live with them. Many of their parents may be essential workers who are already at high risk of infection. A child’s mild infection can create life threatening conditions for the adults who live with them.
