Land to Learn Teaches kids about the connection between
growing food and wellness
Being in quarantine during the pandemic taught us that we should not take our food supply for granted. During the quarantine basic food items were hard to find. As a result we should all be thinking about where our food comes from. Hans Hageman, the Executive Director of Land To Learn is doing exactly that. In this week’s episode we talk to Hans about his approach to connecting children to growing food to help them learn about where food comes from. Hans is working with children in schools and their parents to help them make the connection between healthy eating and wellness. As we learned previously lack of access to healthy food contributes to poor health outcomes in Black communities.
As Hans started working with the children he realized there was so much more that could be done and needed to be done. His push to educate communities about growing food and healthy eating is inspiring. Please enjoy Connecting Children to Growing Food.
