Helpful Resources for Black Home Owners on Mortgage Foreclosure

As the coronavirus was sweeping through Asia and Europe, few politicians in the United States admitted that we could end up experiencing the same kind of suffering here. When the virus finally arrived, not one sector of the government was prepared for how to handle the crisis. The lack of a unified federal approach contributed to the chaos and panic occurring in every state. Forced lock downs and “work from home” orders have created havoc for the financial stability of many Black people in America. Financial stability and Black home ownership is always traditionally fragile, even without a pandemic. Many in our communities lost jobs. As a result people are finding it difficult to meet financial obligations. Black tenants are being evicted and Black home owners can find themselves struggling to keep up with mortgage payments due to the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic. This list of helpful resources for Black home owners was developed to accompany the Black Home Ownership Impacted by COVID-19 podcast.
