Everyone is talking about how to reform policing. Some people just think police need better training, while other believe in a radical overhaul if not eliminated all together. Since the Floyd demonstrations over two hundred bills have been passed, though activists aren’t entirely pleased with the reforms. No matter where you fall on the spectrum it’s clear communities want accountability. Although we’ve mentioned police violence in earlier podcasts, we haven’t had an entire episode on the subject. In this episode our guest is Dominique Johnson from the Center for Policing Equity(CPE). CPE uses data driven policies to help educate law enforcement agencies where and how they may be engaging in race based policing. They also strive to share the data thus empowering communities to improve policing.
