WU Season 3, Ep. 6 – Black Vets & Military Culture, Pt. 1 – 11-23-21, 6.53 PM<br>

In this episode: Black Veterans and Military Culture we feature Colonel Christy (and Doctor) and Commander Steigman share their experience in the service. Dr. Christy works on reproductive health at the Veteran’s Administration and Cdr. Steigman is in the reserves. Over the past year many stories about veterans are appearing in the media. A few of the stories have been disturbing. Women veterans, particularly those of color are being assaulted and killed. And then January 6th happened. We now know that active duty and retired military participated. In other episodes we mentioned the insurrection, but did not feature guests who could talk about it. Alicia and David talk about their own experiences as well as what the acts of the insurrectionists mean for the military services. Hope you enjoy part 1 of our discussion about Black veterans and Military culture. And, stay tuned for the conclusion of our discussion in part 2 coming up shortly.
